WHAT:
Climate Cycle, a non-profit organization dedicated to installing solar systems in Chicago-area public schools, will celebrate the completion of its first two solar panel installations at Perspectives/IIT Math and Science Academy and Talcott Elementary School. Working in partnership with CPS, the Motorola Foundation, and I.B.E.W Local #134, the organization is integrating energy awareness directly into a school’s existing curriculum – giving students and teachers an opportunity to monitor and observe the short- and long-term benefits of solar technology in their schools.

Perspectives Principal Mary Cummane will join students, teachers, CPS Sustainability Program Manager Suzanne Carlson, Motorola Foundation Executive Director Eileen Sweeney, Union President Tom Foley and Climate Cycle Founder Joey Feinstein to ‘switch on’ the new panels - and talk about the program’s short- and long-term goals.
